Dakota
Sandstone Barn
R E C L A I M E D A N T I Q U E S T O N E
The history on this barn is rather vague. It is all that remains of a
homestead long forgotten and mostly removed or demolished. The barn is
constructed of Dakota sandstone a layer found locally. It has pitched
quoins and axe flattened field. It is for the most part a straight
ashlar pattern. It was added on to some time probably in the thirties
and the arches and lintels were cast at that time.
